This was one of my grandparents’ (Pavlick) barns on their tree farm. The barn in the center of the picture was built from Cyprus wood and unpainted. The shed had space for a tractor and implements. The glass window shed on the left side held stacks of burlap used for wrapping tree roots. Barn swallows inhabited the rafters and they would dive at you when you went for the tractor.

In the 1980’s the tree farm became a forest preserve and the barns have been removed.
