This painting depicts a view from Saint Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) in Venice (Venezia), Italy. We visited there with Katie in the spring of 2000. I was walking in the square at about 5 AM and there were few people. A light fog hung on the water as the sun backlit the basilica across the channel. A misty dew on the stone piazza reflected the two columns
